3 Ways to Write a Fun Product Description

How do you avoid writing an utterly boring product description that nobody cares about?

You may have an exciting product, but the product description is boring. It doesn’t do the product justice. So, how do you write a description that stands out and compliments the actual product?

In the research I’ve done, I’ve discovered three fun ways to write product descriptions that are fun and exciting.

Give Your Product a Personality

Zombie Pandan is way better than Pandan Flavor.

OffLimits Cereal found a fun way to name their cereal. They gave it a personality. They made it come to life.

It doesn’t feel like boring ole cereal. When you read it the description, you understand the name behind it (you’re a zombie who just munches on cereal all day).

Say It As You Would to a Friend

Image you’re describing the taste of a particular food to a friend…

You’d want that friend to understand how good that food is. So, you wouldn’t say it tastes like chocolate or some boring food description. You’d exaggerate it a bit. You might even say that whatever food you’re describing is better is better than sex.

That’s quite an exaggeration. And an awesome product description from Last Crumble.

Add an Adjective

Adjectives give your product a flavorful description.

The example below from Graza shows how much fun you can have with adjectives. Instead of saying “delicious olive oil, ” Graza says “Drizzle” & Sizzle” Olive Oil. The adjective makes the product more interesting. It’s more interesting.

You Don’t Have to be Boring

Exciting product descriptions give your product more character.

Copywriting helps make products more compelling and actionable. It gives the customer something worth reading.

It gives your product more character and something worth stopping and reading.
